These books have been reviewed by educators and parents. Here is a sampling of the reviews:
“In my 20+ years in education, which includes teaching economics in public schools, I have never seen any books for young children like Finance for Kids. These books are creative and will be very interesting to students of the proper developmental age. It’s about time that parents and teachers have some tools to teach economics to young children. Finance for Kids fills that need.” - E. Don Kim, Ed. D, Senior Director - Elementary Schools, Torrance Unified School District Buy Now
“Personal finance has become so much more complicated than it was 20 years ago and it is more important than ever that young people have a firm grounding in the basics of personal finance and economics. With predatory lenders wooing customers many young people have serious credit card debt and damage their credit ratings which takes years to recover from. Do your children a tremendous favor and use these books to provide them a solid foundation so that they will make good financial decisions” - James T. Strong, Dean, College of Business Administration and Public Policy, California State University Dominguez Hills Buy Now
“How do you assure that your children make good financial choices as they mature? Start teaching them early with these excellent story books! Dheeriya weaves deep economic principles into simple childhood tales that even your toddlers will grasp easily.“ - Tony Rojko, President of MyMontessori.Net Buy Now
How do we teach our children responsibility for their money and for the family’s money? Finance for Kids is a great start. Each book in the series takes you and your child through a step of understanding how to handle money, save money, and make good consumer decisions. These are a GREAT tool to teaching your child about financial responsibility. - Rev. Rachel Nyback Buy Now
“Dr . Dheeriya’s book on finance for kids fills a pressing need for a book written in simple story form where small boys and girls who are able to read can identify themselves with characters in the stories and see how it benefits them. Basic topics are presented in an engaging manner, so as to get kids interested in various aspects of finance. Understanding finance principles and their implications, at a very early formative age, will get them interested in saving in all fields including on interest costs all through life, help build up excellent credit and avoid getting into financial trouble. These tremendous advantages will more than compensate for the small one-time price of this book.” - Sunandan Kulkarni, Grandparent, Lawndale, CA Buy Now
The Author's Profile
I am an author of 20 children's books in a series called "Finance for Kidz". What makes these books different are that these are actually children's stories with financial lessons embedded in them. In addition, they cover topics as complicated as inflation, deflation, risk and return and identity theft, and are written in a manner in which even a six year old can understand. These books can be read by anyone, including those over 60, who are interested in learning about basic finance. These books make excellent birthday gifts too!
Just found out that our books have been adopted by Millard Public Schools (one of top 6% schools in the country). These books come with free lesson plans for educators. If your local school hasn't adopted them yet, ask them WTF? :) (why this foolishness or any variant you desire).
